Acuity Mobile Replies to Business Week's Article: The Sell-Phone Revolution
BusinessWeek, April 2007
Nickname: Gregg
Review: Catherine, thanks so much for your posting on the pros and cons of
marketing content being delivered to a cell phone or mobile device. This is an
area where the potential for growth is apparent, but only with the right approach.
People do not want spam especially on an item as personal as their cell phone, leading
to one of the biggest hurdles to wide-spread adoption. Customer confidence. To achieve
this, you must start with the individual and deliver content based on Spot Relevance ?.
In other words, deliver content based on: ? User Preferences and Interests (Opt-In) ?
Date and Time ? Location ? User behavior over time (Analytics) While other companies
are focusing on the mass mobile market, I believe that targeting a group of users who
are affiliated with an specific entity who is interested in receiving offers will bring
the greatest response rate and increase adoption. Gregg Smith, EVP, Acuity Mobile
